AI application layer for operating businesses

Chat with your data.

UPshore designs and ships production AI applications on top of the systems you already run — your POS, ERP, databases and spreadsheets — so your executives get cited, trustworthy answers in seconds instead of waiting days for a report.

Live in weeks, not quarters  ·  Runs in your cloud accounts  ·  You own every line of code

Why it works

The chat is just the tip.

Your team sees one clean window and asks in plain English. Everything that makes the answer trustworthy lives below the waterline — that's the part we build.

Decision-ready answers

Your data, visual. Your decisions, faster.

Answers don't stop at text — the AI layer charts the trend, the outlier and the why, straight from your systems. This is what running the business on live data looks like.

Sales vs. labor cost

SalesLabor

▸ Sales +18% QoQ with labor flat — the staffing model scales.

Revenue per FTE

Monthly

▸ $312k per FTE — up 2.4× since the first workflow shipped.

Operational efficiency

▸ Manual reporting hours down 92% — decisions happen in the meeting, not after it.

Margin by category

AI-flagged

▸ Toys running negative margin — flagged mid-month, fixed before it cost a quarter.

Generic AI doesn’t know your business.
Dashboards answer last quarter’s questions.

ChatGPT can’t tell you how yesterday went. Your BI dashboard was built for the questions you had a year ago — every new one becomes a ticket for an analyst. The gap between “we have data” and “we have answers” is the application layer. That’s what we build.

Your answers live in five systems

POS, accounting, legacy databases, spreadsheets, a warehouse tool from 2009. Nobody sees the whole picture — so decisions run on gut feel and stale exports.

Every new question waits in a queue

Static reports can’t follow up. “Why is that number down?” means another request, another meeting, another week. By the time the answer lands, the moment has passed.

Off-the-shelf AI can’t be trusted with it

No citations, no audit trail, no access control — and your data leaving the building. That’s a non-starter for any serious executive team. It should be.

What we build

The AI application layer, done properly.

Not a chatbot demo. A production system your team uses every day — wired into your real data, governed by your real security requirements.

Conversational analytics

Ask in plain English — “Which categories underperformed budget last week?” — and get the answer with the exact queries and rows behind it. Charts included. Follow-ups welcome.

Copilots where your team already works

The same intelligence delivered as a Slack or Microsoft Teams bot, signed in with the accounts your people already have. No new tool to learn, no new login to forget.

The data foundation underneath

Automated pipelines that pull your POS, ERP and legacy databases into one clean, indexed warehouse — nightly, incrementally, reliably. It powers the AI, and it’s yours to keep.

Document & workflow automation

Recurring reports that write themselves. Intake, quotes and summaries handled end-to-end — with a human approving the output, not assembling it.

Built for skeptics

Designed for executives who are
rightfully nervous about AI.

Every answer cites its data

A “show the data” toggle on every response reveals the exact queries and rows behind it. No black boxes.

Every question is logged

Who asked what, what ran, what came back — a complete audit trail from day one.

Access is allowlisted

Single sign-on with your Microsoft or Google accounts. Only the people you name get in.

The AI never freelances

The model calls a constrained, read-only toolset. It cannot write to your systems or run arbitrary queries.

Your data stays yours

Everything runs in cloud accounts you control. Nothing is used to train models. Walk away anytime — it all still works.

Tested before it ships

A suite of real questions from your team is run against every change. Accuracy is measured, not assumed.

How it works

From first call to production in weeks.

01

Discovery sprint

week 1

Map your systems, pick the highest-value use case. Architecture, scope, fixed price.

02

Working system

weeks 2–5

Live on your real data — nightly pipelines, real answers, first users. A URL, not a deck.

03

Harden & hand over

weeks 6–8

SSO, audit logs, accuracy evals, docs. All in your accounts — you own it outright.

04

Extend

optional

A monthly care plan: new data sources, new use cases, new teams. Your pace.

A recent engagement

“How did store 04 do yesterday afternoon?”

The CEO of a multi-store retail chain wanted to ask that question — in those words — and get a correct, verifiable answer in seconds. His data sat across a point-of-sale system, budget spreadsheets and legacy databases; every question meant waiting on someone to pull a report.

In under a month, UPshore shipped a private, natural-language interface over all of it: nightly pipelines into a clean warehouse, an AI layer that answers with citations, a web app and Slack bot gated to the executive team, and every question logged for audit.

The executive team now self-serves in seconds what used to take days — and infrastructure runs on a few hundred dollars a month, not an enterprise BI contract.

Questions we always get

Asked and answered.

What systems can you connect to?

Anything with an API, a database or an export: point-of-sale and ERP systems, QuickBooks/NetSuite, SQL and Access databases, Google Sheets and Excel, CRMs, industry-specific tools. If your data lives somewhere, we can usually get it flowing within the first sprint.

Is our data used to train AI models?

No. We build on enterprise AI APIs with contractual no-training guarantees, and your data stays in cloud accounts you own. We’re happy to walk your counsel or IT lead through the exact data path.

How much does it cost to run after launch?

Typically $100–400 per month all-in for infrastructure and AI usage at executive-team scale. We design deliberately for low, predictable run costs — no per-seat enterprise licensing.

Who owns the code and the data?

You do — completely. Source code, infrastructure, warehouse and credentials all live in your accounts from day one. If we part ways, everything keeps working.

How is this different from hiring a BI consultant?

A BI consultant builds dashboards for the questions you have today. We build a system that answers the questions you haven’t thought of yet — conversationally, with citations, wherever your team already works. The dashboard you have stays; this sits alongside it.

What if it gives wrong answers?

Trust is the whole product. Every answer links to the underlying data, the AI can only run vetted, read-only queries, and we maintain a test suite of your team’s real questions that must pass before any change ships. When something is off, the citation makes it visible immediately — the opposite of a black box.

How do engagements start?

A 30-minute intro call, then a fixed-price discovery sprint. You leave the sprint with an architecture, a scoped plan and a firm quote — valuable even if you build with someone else.

Bring us your hardest question.

The one you wish you could ask your data right now. On a 30-minute call, we’ll tell you exactly what it would take to answer it — architecture, timeline and a fixed price.

Our AI consultant calls you at the time you pick — talk to it like you’d talk to us.
